The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Go see it. You won't be disappointed, even if you liked the Swedish-language adaptation of the novel. Director David Fincher is at his best and relative unknown Rooney Mara has a commitment to the title role that I haven't seen in a young actor for a long time. If she doesn't win "Best Actress in a Leading Role" next year, I will lose all faith in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. (If I haven't already.)
Best film of 2011? You bet.
Since this blog is primarily about clothing, I'll also say that Daniel Craig's wardrobe is well done. Despite that they were attempting to make him look a little older and frumpier, he still manages to pull it off in style. You only see him in a suit once or twice throughout the course of the film.
A warning: The movie isn't your average thriller, is rather disturbing at times, and Craig is about as far from James Bond as he'll ever be. That said, go see it anyway.
